Hats off to RCBS
«

I've had a RCBS Chargemaster 1500 combo since they first released it. About a year ago it basically stopped working, could not get the electronics to stabilize on bootup. I called RCBS, sent the unit in and they returned to me a bran new unit with the upgraded electronics. They did not have to do that but it felt really good to be taken care of. Kudo's to RCBS. These units have really taken my long gun reloading to a new level.

It's a simple as dialing in the powder charge and selecting dispense, as it's dispensing it is measuring. Ball powders have near 100% accuracy, cylindrical powders are about 98% accurate. If a dispensed load does not weigh what you expect it too just put it back in the powder container. So if I am doing a batch of 50 or 100 rounds every round will have the exact powder charge. When I first started reloading I could only afford the powder dispenser that came with my Dillon XL650, its good for pistol rounds but not the kind of accuracy required for long range shooting.

RCBS is a great company, with awesome customer service. I can honestly say, every time I have contacted them with issues, they have gone out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with the answers and help they gave.

i measure out all my powder for riffles by hand, but im never in a hurry when i reload. the pistol rounds are through a powder thrower and weighed every tenth round, i just cant justify the cost of those high dollar powder measures

The chargemaster is nothing more than an expensive accurate powder dump. I weigh every charge. The electronics in the machine can be thrown off by a lot of different variables, cell phones, (similar to how they come through the computer speakers when they are about to ring) tvs, anything electronic.
Problem 2. The pulse that the scale sends back to the dump to stop dumping has some lag time. I consistently get .2 to .3 of excess powder in my pan. I fixed this by setting the dump .3 under my desired load and trickle in a few granulars on my balance beam scale. Some scales go over 2 or 3 grains. That is a lot when you shoot a max load .22 caliber round and it goes over by 3 grains.
I like mine though, i cut 90% of my trickle time out, and I am skipping a step with the old powder dump as the Chargemaster is working for me while I am seating a bullet.
You are right though. Good company
