Bird box and bird carrying bag for training
« on: January 14, 2022, 12:25:30 PM »
Just curious where you guys get yours at?
I’m going to be buying a few birds for training and like to get these. Not a box for them to live in but 1 to transport them in and let the dog get a snootfull of scent.
I’ve seen some at hunt tests
Thanks in advance

This is who I use...  https://www.cutlersupply.com/collections/transportation-coops

I have the quail crate, and several of the coop8.

I get my bird bags from Lion Country Supply.
Hunt hard and shoot straight!

We have always used a small dog crate with something in the bottom to collect the poop for transport. Cover over it so they can not see out.
For setting them out in the field for scent we use the larger sized wire fishing bait containers that are just big enough for a pigeon sized bird.
Cuterebra are NOT cute!

I have a handful similar to “coop7” in the link above. I no longer use them and would sell 1 or all if anyone is interested.

Any of those crates work great. We buy the small dog/cat carriers at garage sales for $3 to $5 each. They have worked for us for 20 years, hauled everything from quail, pigeons, ducks, chukar, huns, pheasants, geese, chickens, etc. Solid lit is the very important as is ventilation, especially in warmer temps.
