Anyone else apply for OIL tags and almost hope you don't get them because you'd have no idea what you're doing?

Still gotta put in I guess.

Thought has never and will never crossed my mind I’ll figure it out

I wouldn’t worry about hiring a guide for an oil tag. You’ll get pointed in the right direction from people here and buddies who would be more than happy to volunteer

It ain't rocket surgery. It's still just hunting. You'll be fine and you'll get plenty help and advice.

OIL tags are so rare people come out of nowhere willing to help.

At least that what I’m hoping for with my OIL tag this year 🥳

An OIL tag is a problem I'd love to figure out. Now if I could just draw one, any of them would do.  :chuckle:

Just got a text from Shaniqua.
Draw is gonna happen very soon, like in about 168 hours.

You can take that to the bank.

P.S., this may be insider information.

My oldest daughter better start drawing some of these youth tags before she's not able to buy youth applications anymore.

Hurts less on your second kid... :chuckle: :chuckle:

First kid I was all "Mr. Application Strategy"   :tinfoil:  hmmmm.... is it better to put in for something he can draw and burn the points, or is it better to be in the pool your last year with more points than most other kids..... :dunno:

Next year, I will sit Little Pathfinder down and say "Son, this year you are going to eat 8 points in every youth category.  This is what it will feel like most years that you send your money to WDFW.  Now, let's talk about career fields that will get you a good job in WY, MT, CO or ID..."   :chuckle: :chuckle:
I've had the same conversation with my daughter and she comes back and says she wants to be a teacher :bash:.  "You know school starts the same month as hunting season right?"   :dunno: :dunno:
I have a daughter who is an excellent teacher, has a masters. She has killed two of the biggest bucks in our camp over the last 10 years. My son played “ a professional sport”, he always makes it to camp, he’s killed a few dandies also. Being a teacher is the most noble profession I personally know. Thank your daughter for what she wants to do. I’m sure she will teach well and kill some bucks👍

not at all.. hardest part is drawing the tag. Hunting and finding the OIL animals isnt hard unless we are talking terrain or packing a moose :chuckle:

my late guess is June 2nd just looked at some profiles and special hunt is an option to look at now. Don't think we could look at special hunt option until today since May 19th.

Nope
Never have apply with the hopes of not drawing,  oil or regular permits.
The OIL permit light is pretty bright. When you draw....

Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce

Interesting...maybe this week?  :dunno:
