Hummingbird

Finally got a chance to take some Hummingbird pictures this weekend.

When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

Very cool Dave, the kids just got the feeder hooked back up and I am watching every day for the little birds

Great shot. I am always amazed with those little guys. My dad has maintained a feeder all winter and helped feed a few thru the winter here in Oly.

I'm jealous.  I used to have a ton in Twisp, but hardly any here in Yakima.

Hummers in Twisp - how right you are, Bone!

I've gotten to spend the past couple days photographing hummingbirds over in Twisp.  I've been fortunate to see all 3 species that are in the area; the Rufous, Calliope, and my new favorite, the Black-chinned.  The little Black-chinned is cool.  When the light hits him just right, the whole underside of his throat shows a gorgeous iridescent bluish-purple.   It's been a lot of fun having these guys buzz all around my head as I try to "shoot" them.
