It depends on how much you are going to use it, if it's just once a year or quite a bit.I bought a new one for cherries and if you can figure out how to get them to not stick to the grates it will make the process much easier. I cut them in half and they always stick bad.Dried home grown cherries are the bomb though and worth the effort.

I’m definitely a novice at this though. I got a MEAT! 10 tray and it seems really nice and I like it. Little big for how much I’ve used it though. Would rather have a freeze dryer I think but those are spendy.

I have an Excalibur dehydrator and it has been great for about 7 years now. I highly recommend it, and it is on sale on Amazon right now. Not the cheapest thing out there, but it does a good job.
