I have tried up north for my eastern and have had no luck, going to go try down south this weekend and wounder if johnson creek area is worth the time or should i go else where? Leaving after work on friday hope to be in the area around 8:30 so i can roost some birds! Has any one seen or herd any bird around johnson creek?

Probably as good a place to go as any if you haven't done any scouting.  Always birds in that area, and its easier than most to drive the roads and try to roost one.  If none are heard, start hoofing it behind the gates and make a day of it.  Look for sign, use locator calls to try to shock gobble one and then hen calls when you're back in a ways.  Call softly and cover ground....your best option at this point in the season without scouting.

Pretty late in the game for easterns, but not over.  Should have less competition though from hunters.  Can't kill them sitting at home...lol.

Well this weekend of chasing easterns  around johnson creek really sucked!!! I spend 4 hrs walking up one road with no luck at all, went to another gated road and hiked in a few miles and nothing there!!!! >:( :bash:. This will be my last weekend chasing these  birds around, I am off to colville this next weekend to go get my wife her first bird I hope!
She has never been turkey hunting, I hope i can put her on one and get it on video. Did any one have any luck this weekend on easterns?
