I was over at the property this weekend. The snow has settled in most places and down to little over a foot.

Not in the eastern part of the Chiliwist (the epicenter of this storm). The Methow side had about half the amount.

Sure hope they let me get close!! 😂 As for snowshoes figured best to have them and not need them. Buddy had a tag few weeks ago, wished he had snowshoes.

Thanks for the well wishes! I’ll update on here how it goes. I’ve eaten a few buck tags. First “Quality” tag I’ve drawn.

Day 1. Definitely tough getting around!

First spot, came around a spot to find a dink whitetail. Could’ve possibly got a shot but opted not to try. Half hour later, popped over a knoll to spot a few deer scattered about. Whitetails. Shooter buck to the left, coyote in the middle, second buck (Missing half its rack) with a couple does. 252 yards away a could never get on buck with the full rack.

Saw a spike on private ground in the road as I attempted to drive and access some land to no avail.

Found a new location with a mule deer buck I would tag. 97 yard off the road. Tried to get on him and his doe. Pushed them up higher with another buck I’d tag. Attempted from up the road to come in at their level only to spot a buck (unsure if it was one of the two or another one) way down below me near the main road.

Spotted a buck and doe on private past shooting ligh driving out.

Thanks for the update.

Stay warm. Looks like it’s going to get cold.

At least the snow has settled to about a quarter of what it was for your hunt. Sure looks like a muley spike in that picture though. I have a couple ideas for you if you want to send a PM.

Wrong picture of the whitetail I did not attemp. Previous picture was a mule spike I saw in the road attempting to access some public land.

This is yesterday’s little whitetail.

Couple bucks this morning. Way up on a ridge. Couldn’t make a play on them
