This thread has taught me two things:

1. Some hunters feel incredibly entitled to a public resource.

2. The Bumping unit has good enough elk hunting that folks have been hunting it for decades and might be worth checking out next year

Just make sure you were old socks over your boots, and walk backwards so the “locals” can’t track you.

Bumping in the Bumping!

He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

I think if all you want to do is say: "hey man, this is a pretty tight area for all of us and there are some things that can ruin it for everyone. With that said, I want you to know about A, B & C issues that can make it a bad hunt for all of us, so please entertain me so that we all hopefully have a good hunt..."

Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

Was up camping in Rimrock unit a few weeks ago just to relax with some old friends and came to a great camping spot with three very large tents and nothing else. It was obviously an elk camp waiting for the season. We contemplated sleeping in their tents and using the site but decided to just move on!

Maybe those tents were the ones that burnt up? Describes in another huntwa thread.

Oh no definitely not wall tents that I saw in that thread. These were like very large family style Coleman tents. Next to the north fork of the Tieton River. Beautiful place to camp.

This may have been said and may not be the case but… I know biologists flag salmon spawn beds along some of the tributaries in that area so what looks like a crossing maybe a spawn bed!?
Shut up and Hunt!
