I made a rookie mistake when submitting for specials this year and used 2021 Regulations, all of the numbers matched up with 2022 except for one of them. I happened to draw that one tag. I drew Archery Anterless Elk Tag GMU 352 nile late hunt NOV-23-DEC.8.

Does anyone know what to expect conditions to be like during that time in 352? I have never hunted that area and haven't been in that area in many years. I am scouting and hunting an entirely different area for early season. I have never hunted late season. So this will be an entirely new adventure. I imagine there will be a lot of snow. I don't know if there is much value in scouting it to early due to snow pushing the elk into different areas? If anyone has any advice I surely appreciate it.

Thanks

Snow will be hit or miss from year to year.

Used to hunt it a lot during late season. Like D-Rock said, snow is hit or miss. Some years we had a foot plus, some years none at all. Never hurts to scout even just to learn the lay of the land and the roads. With the fire in there last year things are going to look very different than years past so getting in there and looking at it could be very important.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Thanks for the info guys. I noticed on a recent post that area got burned pretty badly last year. I have a dually and it doesn't do so well in the snow. I had no idea if it was typically covered in heavy snow or not.

If the winters are like the last few you should be good.

A come-a-long winch, snow chains, an some type of fire starter are recommended.
The best equipment in the world is useless to the idiot who doesn't understand it.
