There hasn't been a down range office in many years and the old VHS video died about a decade ago. All your check-in and registration is done right at the main gate office. Other than those items everything else is more or less accurate.

You mean to tell me everything on the internet is not true????  How dare you!!! Ha ha ha ha.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

The Whiners suck!!

Two spare tires. If it's wet, stay on gravel roads. The army will not pull you out.

Lol, spot on!  we found a guy that was lost a couple years ago in that freak September storm in 3 when my buddy had the south central raffle.  It cost the guy a pretty penny to get the wrecker all the way out there to tow him!😂

Harley,
Go to Yakima Training Center on Facebook. A current set of rules are posted. We had a great time hunting the area and went 3 for 3 on deer.
Our best luck came after they opened up two of the areas that were closed for the entire season. The last two days for #10 and #11 opened and the bucks were everywhere. They will close some areas other than permanent live fire areas according to the level of military use surrounding them. We found that the animals bedded on the sides of the coolies in the thick sage. We talked to the wildlife officer when he checked our animals. He said that cover is most important over food and water so concentrate on that. Get all your paperwork done early and best of luck on your sons hunt.
PS: during the 3 years, we became friends with the Manager of the range. He was very helpful letting us know where the animals were being seen. Also, keep an eye on the log book. It will tell you where the kills are.
