What window mount do you like and why?
« on: June 23, 2022, 10:43:18 AM »
Bought a new spotting scope and am curious as to what you all are using for window mounts. Athlon Ares G2 UHD 20-60-85.

Thanks

Might get better info if you include what shoe you will be using, I switched from Vortex to Arca Swiss and the options are not great at reasonable costs.

I bought a cheap black ovis one.  Seems to work well with the maven scope I have.

Stein—I haven’t bought a shoe yet as I am really unsure on what I need. New to the spotting scope game and trying to hopefully buy once.

D-Rock— I will check out the black Ovis.

Thanks

Got a vortex one for my swaro. It’s not smooth at all. I need to replace it with a decent one

Don't buy the Vortex.  I have been using my homemade unit vs the Vortex, which I threw in the trash.

Bought a Vortex for my Swaro Spotter, as stated above it was not smooth at all . So I built my own . Used the window clamp part from the Vortex and when I upgraded the head on my Tripod I put the old head on the clamp . Way better . The head I used is a Promaster XC - M
