Drew #150 for Deer, thinking that will def get me in, anybody know how many they alternates got in last year or know where to find official numbers for years past?
Yeah are going . It varies year to year . 4 years ago a buddy was like #248 he got the call 3 days before the end of the season . 3 years ago I was 748ish , got the call labor day weekend . 2 years ago buddy was 768ish . He got the call 2 days before end of season , luckily he tagged along with me and was over there when they called .

With this years gas prices, does anyone think they’ll get to the 900’s?  I’m 979 this year.

I’m sure there are people on the clock so to speak right now. I believe once your number comes up you have 10 days to purchase the tag. That being said, I think the numbers were done on the 11th so would expect to see numbers updated the 21st/22nd.

My buddy is waiting as well.....But I'm curious as to how it works? So lets say on the 1st they drew all the alternate #'s, if there are 600 available then on the 2nd they would email/call the first 600? Then after 10 days, there are 300 available, so they call/email the next 300? If that is how its done then Flaming should have received a call/email by now unless there wasn't 24 available...... ?

I called MT Fish and Game this morning.  The guy I talked to told me the first emails will go out next week.

He also told me they gave out 156 deer permits last year, as part of the Alternate List.

I don’t know if it works the same way in the beginning.  But I got my e mail a couple years ago the end of October when I was in Idaho deer hunting.  The e mail started I could purchase a tag and had 10 days from the day of my e mail, but also said I was not guaranteed a tag as they notify more people then tags available.  But they could just be towards the end because it’s harder for people to make plans to hunt Montana that late in the year.

I don’t have official numbers but I’ve read from multiple Montana sites and forums that they got into 700+ last year, so I think the 150 is a little low. We shall see.

I hope you are right, and I hope the guy I talked to was all wet.

You are probably right, I don't know how it works. Never had to get on the list until this year.

156 was the amount of tags available, not everybody accepts the tag.  I couldn’t as I had already scheduled a jobs all of November

Maybe they meant 700+ people got the email and the 150 tags were avail, hard to believe that many people turned them down, although the later it is the harder to go.
