Daughters new rifle
« on: July 08, 2022, 06:33:38 PM »
She turns 15 this September and has been shooting the same compact Thompson center venture chambered in 7mm08 since she passed hunters ed at 8 years old.  She shoots my Browning hells canyon in 270wsm really well but wanted to stay with the 7mm08.  So after about an 8 month search I finally found a new Browning xbolt speed in 7mm08.  We'll be topping it with a new zeiss conquest v4.

Nice. Maybe you should break it in on your goat hunt!

That will be a great rifle.  Son and wife both have shot 7mm 08 for years.  Son has graduated to a 300 wsm and 338 lapua so his 7mm 08 is now turned into a deer / yote gun.  I worked a load with 101 grain hammer hunter that is super accurate.  I wouldn't hesitate to take a bear with it either.

The 7mm 08 is super versatile and will handle a wide range of bullet weights.  Your daughter will have that rifle for years.
