Barrel Question
«
on:
June 16, 2009, 12:22:42 PM »
I have an older T/C Pennsylvania hunter. I hunted with it probably 10 years ago and people have talking about the barrels pitting over time or if it wasnt cleaned good. I tried looking down the barrel and the top 2 inches looks great. is there a way to see what it looks like farther down. Does the pitting take away accuracy? i have the multi season deer tag and dont really want to buy a new one. Should i just clean it and shoot it and see how it does?
Thanks

you could find or borrow a bore scope. if you have any auto mechanic or gunsmith buddies they might have one.

Have you cleaned it recently? If not, I'd clean it good and run a brush, then see what it feels like with a tightly patched jag. If it feels pretty smooth it's probably fine. Let us know how it shoots.
