Frank Church bear. 2500 vertical pack up and 2.5 miles out. Didn't help that she decided to jump off a cliff after being shot and roll an additional 800' down. According to the gal that took the tooth, she is over 25 years old. Sorry for poor pic quality, hard to get good pics solo on a 45 degree slope.

25 years in the Frank Church.
Imagine the things she saw.

I didnt even think a wild bear could get 25.   Thats quite something.

She saw a lot of months inside a den, I'll bet the farm on that. Pretty long time in some intense country
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Bear #2
« Reply #217 on: October 07, 2022, 10:14:53 AM »
Went and sat in a spot where I had been seeing bears travel, not far away from where bear #1 was killed. Still sore from packing out my elk several days ago, so it was more of a good excuse to relax, watch the fall colors, and be in the woods and out of the shop for a few hours. Sat down at 6:05 and almost fell asleep but opted to look at some photos on the phone. Heard several 'crunches' on the fall leaves and thought something may had been coming in at several times, but nothing ever appeared and chalked it up to a bird or squirrel. 6:45 I look up from my phone and this boar is just standing there sniffing the air! 1 shot put him down one shot and a second one for the finishing blow. After letting him lay for a bit and then getting my gear together I didn't have enough light to take an in-field photo. Gutted him got him out to a nearby access road and got him back to the shop for photos and skinning. Without the guts he was 189lb on the scale, pumpkin headed, beautifully coated, and LOADED with fat. Probably cut about 20lbs of fat slabs off of him after skinning before putting him in the walk in cooler.
