We got one tag filled this last weekend. Nice boar came into us at 100 yards Sunday evening and she double lunged him. Didn't go more than 10 yards from the log he stood on. We've already had bacon wrapped back straps haha.
My wife used to be cool like that!

A buddy shot a bear a few days ago that had the most fat I have seen on an early fall bear.  The fat across the back and ribs was 1 1/2-2” thick.   It was pretty impressive…..must be eating well.  It was a boar  approx 225.   lbs

That’s awesome I have killed one in early august with 6” of fat around the rump. And a few with 3-4” in late august and one sept 8th. Plenty of bears carry a good amount of fat all year we just can’t seem to get lucky these past two seasons.

After being a stowaway for the last week. It's time to get serious about a bear if the heat lets up a bit. Got an update on my cameras. Looks like I am getting a replacement crop.

I'm going to try to get after it about the middle of the week.  Or like Ridgeratt says, when the heat lets up a bit.  Either way it's my only chance this year to get my grandson involved.
Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

Had a Thursday thru Sunday trip planned this next week. Looks like I may be holding off. Not interested in dealing with a bear in 100 degree heat.

Haven't been there for a few days.  They all disappeared during the heat wave, and all the noise I was making.  Will be sneakier when I get back with grandson.  Cougar doesn't seem to mind though.   :hunter:
