Bear Question

I missed a bear yesterday in an old burn. How long till he makes his way back to feed in that area? He didn’t see us but moved out of the area

Very well could be there this morning....especially if he didn't smell you.  Not to mention....if there is one bear in that burn, there are likely many more.

I don’t think bears are as smart as some like to think they are. He heard a noise and he ran away. Probably got to the edge of the trees and thought what am I running from?

I agree, bears are not prey animals, they don't have a whole lot to be afraid of. A one time event isn't going to alter his behavior too much, especially if there is good food around.

Totally agree. I missed the same bear…shot at and missed…three out of 5 nights in a week.

I missed a bear one night. I ended up catching him 400 yards away 2 days later and dumped him. I will say, he was a lot more alert the second time.

Pretty much more interested in food than anything else.  One of the most famous bears I know of was chased day in and day out and he always returned to the same spot to eat.
