Here are a few shots of Pintails from several weeks back.  My wife & I got married at the end of March, and honeymooned down at the Lower Klamath and Tulelake National Wildlife Refuges, on the CA/OR border.  We drove around during the days looking at all the awesome waterfowl that was there.  She's a real sport to actually want to spend a honeymoon at a waterfowl refuge!

By the way, if I ever shoot a superbly plumaged Pintail drake, I'd seriously consider using photos #1 or #2 as a reference to give my taxidermist - I'd love a fine Pintail to be mounted in a dramatic flight position like that.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Doug, we've gotta get together and shoot ducks sometime.  There are alot of good areas in this state.  I think the Moses Lake area isn't too far from you.  There are many ducks there - I don't know how good the photo ops are there, but that area certainly has the subjects.

Thanks . . .   Pintails are one of my favorites.  Unfortunately, they are one of only a few species that are practically impossible to photograph here in the Omak area, so I have to travel for them.  A Klamath trip, or a trip over to the Seattle area, is about my only chance to 'shoot' them.

Snipe, are there any particular duck species you'd like to see?  I don't have any sea ducks yet, but should be able to help with most of the others.
