Carbon Bows

Anybody have one? What are the pros and cons? Curious if the lighter weight results in less accuracy, and how strong the riser is compared to metal. Looking at the PSE Levitate.
Been quite a few years since i've bought a new bow, Currently have a PSE MachX and have killed ALOT of critters with it, boy have things changed.

I've never owned a carbon bow, but have shot them.  They sure are nice to handle and shoot.   I didn't notice a difference with accuracy but that was back when I was shooting a lot and I could pretty much shoot any bow accurately. 

Never heard anything bad about them....other than the cost.

Lighter weight will be less steady for sure similar to a rifle. Just takes good form

If you are talking riser only wont be much difference but I never liked carbon limbs. They are faster but they make a weird sound and I think its a sound that game hear. 100% my opinion and I never liked hunting with them

I bought he Bowtech carbon Zion last year and love it. It’s light and shoots really really nice. Any accuracy issues with it come from me, not the bow.

The best thing about them is they allow you to put the weight where you want it. They are warm in the winter time, but I don’t think that’s worth the price but me being an idiot that I am. I just bought an RX nine now got an RX eight RX seven RX five all sitting in the spare room.

I have a carbon hoyt. Love it. Not worth the current prices. Less durable to impact damage, and there was a time when hoyts carbon bows were actually light weight. Isnt that the whole point of a carbon bow? I find it funny that a lot of carbon bows now are heavier than a lot of aluminum models (Hoyt )
My 2015 carbon spyder is 3.75lbs with a 34” ata. Hoyts  new $2000 carbon is 4.3lbs at 33.5” ata. Hmmm.
PSE is actually keeping their carbon bows light. But i have no experience with them.
The only gain I see from the new ones is they arent freezing to the touch when its cold out. If thats worth an extra $500-$700 for ya, then go for it.
It all comes down to personal preferance though.

Forgot I started this thread.....FF 3 years and I am just now pulling the trigger on a PSE Mach 33, (Thanks Todd) Figured out I have had my current bow for 19 years 

and like I stated then, boy have things changed.......The sight I like (Option archery) is 1/3 the cost of the bare bow......still trying to talk myself into it.  going with a hamskea rest, looks pretty nice.

It has served me very well, put lots of meat in my belly. Have always had the mentality if it aint broke....dont fix it. 
Excited to re-learn some archery stuff...except the $600 for a sight

Bought my first bow (Drenalin) in 2008, bought my 2nd and current bow in 2023. First bow still shoots great, but the Mach 34 was definitely an upgrade

I run bows for a long time, too. I used my old Martin for 15 years when I bought my current Bowtech. A buddy’s son is using the old Martin now

I kind of view it as an extension of my arm.....have shot that bow so much its just second nature, almost instinct. I can go for a month or 2 without shooting it, then pick it up and be driving tacks without even think9ng about it. Getting a new one will take a bit to feel THAT comfortable.

Those sure are sweet looking.  One of my favorite things about the carbon bows is how they sound when ya let an arrow fly.  Music to my ears.
