Looking for a hunting partner or group as a newbie

I am a married female in my 40s who recently got a hunting license. I have never hunted, did not grow up in it, or know in my adulthood anyone who did who doesn't live literally thousands of miles away. I am a trad archer, working on drawing 45lbs recurve, and have some modern weapons. I'd be interested in hunting most anything, bow or modern weapons, just to get experience. My husband is not fond of the idea of me hunting or hunting, is against gun ownership (lmao, but this I can explain later) but is willing to eat it if I do all the work, so take that as you will. If you are interested in muzzleloaders, that would be a plus as I am currently trying to assemble one.
I am looking for maybe a family group or an experienced female hunter(s) to tag along with. If I do manage to take down anything, I would share gladly or give you some of my homebrewed wine, lol. I just need experience.

I really hope you find the right people to spend time with. One suggestion I have for anyone spending time alone in questionable cell phone areas is to invest in a device such as a inreach mini. Gives those back at home waiting for your return some peace of mind in knowing they can check in on you. I have spent most of my time in the woods and upland fields alone. It always made my wife uneasy. It probably doesn’t help any now that I have a sat device that I tell my wife this should make my body recovery much easier

River Horse, Another opportunity for you would be to contact:
Aaron Garcia
Hunter Education & Volunteer coordinator Region 3
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
Aaron.Garcia@dfw.wa.gov
He may be able to connect you with a hunting mentor or put you on an email list for hunting clinics. That is how I got started in 2017. Good luck! 253sg

Maybe add what part of western Washington you live in or how far you are able/willing to travel to meet up. Someone might be willing to let you tag along or mentor you if you're in there area versus having to traveling to you.

Post where you live helps. I've taken people on hunts before.

River Horse,
The Westminster Elk Hunt is equal opportunity, but there are no females yet this year. We hunt GMU 368 Cowiche, 30 miles west of Yakima, camping at Tree Phones area on DNR property, Ahtanum State Forest, Oct 28 - Nov 6. You can use modern firearm, muzzleloader or bow/crossbow during Modern Firearm season, but would need a Eastern WA Modern Firearm license. Night time temperature is 15-45 F. You can come for any number of days. Successful hunter takes 1/4 - 1/2 the meat, and divides the remainder between the other hunters/helpers.
