Wife and I had a good weekend picking on the coho

The last few years have been pretty rough for our local salmon rivers. My wife and I got out this weekend and and enjoyed the sun and caught some nice Coho too!

Nice fish. How well did the one with half a tail fight? At least no meat was wasted on a seal. Or is that just a birth defect.

I think he was definitely seal bitten. It had some other scrapes as well. That one fought pretty hard. Lots of jumping, ripping line and finally several deep dives trying to get under the boat. That one had been in the river a couple days. The meat looks good, but it’s earmarked for the smoker.
