I really needed a cheap but functional muzzle loading rifle for loaning out to people that are new to ML firearms when I take them to the range for training. So I checked out the pawnshops and found a good one. Connecticut Valley Arms (CVA) .50 caliber, percussion lock, Frontier Carbine. The outside of the barrel was dinged up with some light surface rust, but the bore was clean and the lock is functioning. Price was $149.95, it came out to $165.39 after sales tax. I bought it right then.

This is a really small carbine, ideal for women and youth. Also good for a canoe gun for me as the short barrel will be easy to load when seated.
