Material under stove in tent
« on: October 03, 2022, 12:49:32 PM »
Ive been using the zip out floor in my Alaknak for the stove but I’d like to use something like a welding blanket.  What else makes a good base for a wood stove?

rectangular metal drip pans that you can get at auto parts stores work well.

What am I missing here? I just set it on the dirt.🤔

Remove grass/roots and backfill dirt up sides of stove if a stove that sits on the ground.
So simple even a dirt guy can do it.

The back panel off on old dryer worked well for me when I tent camped. I'm cheap and it was free.

I second the cement backer board suggestion. Doesn’t absorb heat & provides a hard surface for the stove to sit not to mention not taking up any room traveling as the first layer in the back of the truck.

I put down a tarp, just cut out where the stove goes.😉
