So Phelps has come out with a new line of "White Tail calls". The new "EZ-Sucker" seems to be pretty hit big for the elk side. How do ya'll feel about these? Some of them seem a bit pricey but you get the Phelps name on them I guess. Has anyone had success relying on calls for white tail?

Calling whitetails back east is big business and it works in the rut. Doe bleats and buck grunts. Rattling. All good stuff for WT’s.

Jason, have you tried any of these on blacktail during r&d? I really enjoy calling blacktail. Any of these replicate the timber talker(I think that's the name)? really old call that's probably out of production.

We are excited about the new deer call line. Three distinct grunts, one adjustable bleat and one fawn in distress.

We decided to have all of these calls made in the USA. Turned in Washington, reeds laser cut in Washington, assembled in Washington, plastic injected parts in Illinois (I doubt many, if any other companies can make that claim). We also chose to utilize acrylic in all of our call barrels for durability and uncompromising sound quality.  Our expensive call “BETA Grunt” features a milled acrylic toneboard (basically an oversized duck call at half the price of a duck call).

We had some guys testing previous versions last year but improvements have been made since. We found that the alpha and beta are better at replicating the deeper shorter grunts of Blacktail and Mule Deer.

We have around 20 sets of these calls in Washington/Oregon/California with some guys that spend a lot of time in the stand. They are excited about the calls but the proof will be in the results.

All I want to do in September is blow Phelps. Unless I'm using my Maverick. Then I guess I'm blowing Dirk.

I appreciate the response Jason! I was wondering if any of the test guys had experiences bringing in predators with the fawn distress? Having most the components made here in WA is definitely a huge draw. I think I might have to pick one up! My brother got me your crystal turkey pot call for my birthday and that thing is a beaut.
