The first 2 days were slow but I heard of 6 bucks and 10 does on the opener at the check station. I saw one hunters deer he shoot this morning it was a nice 4*4 about 22 inches. I have talked with a few  people that will shoot a nice 3 or 4 point if they get the chance. I have also talked with a few guy's that have not even seen a deer, and said they would not put in for that again that there is no deer out there. I just agreed with them. More chance for us sportsmen that actually leave our trucks and try to find deer. 90% of every body out there are driving the roads wondering why there are not seeing any deer, with 100 rigs give or take a few driving around I do not think the deer are going to be standing in the road. Sorry about the complaining but I can't believe some people. At least you guy's understand.  :dunno:

Some people dont realize either that there are some good deer pretty close to the impact area.  I saw a hooter 3 point about 100 yards away from the border the day before the hunt in area 5.  It was about 24-26 wide with long points.

Hey,
i am asking for help from sheer disgust. i have hunted very very hard for three days and have seen two bucks. One small 2 point and a shootable four point this morning at about 10,000 yards ha ha. I tried to locate the buck with no success. i have been walking the draws up and down and sideways and haven't seen nearly what i have seen in the past. A couple Buddy's of mine have doe tags and they are running across bucks left and right. I believe that is called the doe tag law of physics? Anyways any help from anyone in a good direction to go would be great. i have been hunting low in 7, high in ten and high and low in 4 and 16. i am hunting by myself which makes it a tad more difficult. I do not want to resort to driving around and hopefully i will have better luck tomorrow. Please any information would be great. If anyone has any luck for sale please let me know! Thanks Fireguy

The snow wasnt bad. There was probably 1-3 inches down low and 6-8 up top maybe a little more. The roads were managable for the most part. I am hoping tomorrow is the turn around day. Should be nice tomorrow.

Well 1 down 1 to go. Today was great hunting conditions. We saw 20 does, 3 elk , 4 bucks. My huntin partner shot a 8*11 at 10:45 this morning 24 inch's wide ,22 tall, 11 inch bases. Basically 4*4 with double eye guards and lots of kickers around the bases. Story and pics soon I promise.2 bucks today were shot over 30 inches saw pictures of them. Fireguy run the ridges first thing in the morning glassing every draw even if you have to walk over the edge. About 8:30 start walking down ridges. I am driving a dark red f-350 4 door if you see me stop me . :IBCOOL:

I believe everything but the eleven inch bases....must be talking burrs, not circum.  Congrats.  I can't wait to see.  Yep, I stared longingly outside today.  Came home today for family time and teh wife was pissy as hell.  SHOULD have stayed in the woods.

Hey wackmaster do you know what the web site is that gives what training areas are open and closed.  The outdoor recreation one i used last year does not work any more.  Just wondering if they got the ages of the deer from the tooth samples posted yet from last years deer?  Hope you connect on a good one.+

Hey are you guys seeing any elk out there? I'm going to try to pull a cow out of there after the deer hunt ends.

Got my buck today not as big as I hoped for but with season end tomarrow I was looking for any buck today. We haven't seen any rut activity in 4 days. After Tuesday we started finding less bucks. All the buck I have seen the last few days are alone. My buck has digressed horn and his teeth were worn below the gum line.He is a 3*3 21 inches wide.I passed on 23 nicer bucks in 8 days but I am more than happy with him.I had a great time.I also saw 3 cow elk in area 3 and a bull in 15.I just looked on ytc site and they don't show the closed area and I am not sure about the teeth. He said they will post age for this year in July.Well let the pictures begin. Give me a day or two to figure out how. :IBCOOL:

Any deer is a nice deer in my book.  You sure did earn it.  Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.  It was fun to follow along.  Do you know what web site they will put the age of the deer on.  They told me the same thing last year.  I could never find it .  Cant wait to see some pictures.
