I'm amazed that I haven't seen a single road kill near my house this year.  In fact, I haven't seen a road kill anywhere for at least two weeks.  Normally around here, four or five deer are hit by city residents unaware that the rut is on and there's deer moving everywhere.  The only daylight buck I caught on cam yhid year was a nice three point that showed in my yard at 1:00 PM on Haloween.  In 2020 and 2021, we had daylight bucks showing up on 17 and 20 Nov. respectively.  I'm expecting that trend might continue this year as well.

Feast or famine right now with this weather. Bucks were out in full force though, today. Chasing hard, should be a great late season if some weather shows up…

Had this dandy at 10-15 yards today. Didn’t want to leave his doe. 4x4 with eye guards. Wish I got some better pics of him.

No real weather expected for the late season but the moon will be at less than 25% and cold Temps. Should be a good 4 days. My buddy had a 3 point checking for does mid morning today while he sat in his ground blind waiting for elk.

I had the 437 late modern quality tag and couldn't put it together.  Passed on several smaller solo bucks but couldn't find any toads.  Seems like they were still very nocturnal as I never found any chasing does.

Then the day after season this guy was out middle of the day.  A little spindly and was hanging in town so couldn't have got him but it certainly rubbed a little salt in the wound.   :'(  Certainly has a swollen neck though!

I saw a ton of deer this weekend. Some were small bucks with does. Some lone does. Some searching. But everyone was after dark. While walking out or driving out. But right at last light in the last 10 minutes sunday heard a couple bucks fighting, and one of the bucks making a scrap. Chasing each other, grunting. It was cool to have 40 yards away. But daytime activity has been none for blacktail.
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

That's not right. He shouldn't have disrespected you like that. Put his butt in your face and everything.

Haha no doubt!  Out on a bike ride and there he is just chilling eating apples.  Zero cares about us stopping to get pics.  Guess I needed 2 buckets worth to haul to my hunting spots lol

Similar experience to me then.  I don't think the moon cycle helped me out much at the tail end of the season.  Hopefully, some of them slip up and make themselves shown during daylight come late season.

My unicorn apple thief doesn't care about the rut just yet. He's out all by himself feeding his face tonight.

I got to sit on my front porch and watch this guy chase a doe around in a circle for 15 minutes. I’m excited for the cold weather and small moon!
