SO 6 man tipi with two LBO nests?
« on: October 20, 2022, 08:40:57 AM »
Has anyone ran two of the LBO nest inside the 6 man tipi and if so how did you like it? Much room available after? I definitely want to run a stove as well with the two LBO's. Previously SO made a nest for the 6, but no longer do. Originally I wanted the redcliff, but it seems to cozy for two guys and small cots.

Only reason I'm interested is for spring/summer Alaska fishing and fall Alaska hunting. If used anywhere else I most likely won't use the nests.

Would be Interested in seeing some pics or open to other suggestions if anyone has one? I've heard of the bear paw design guy, but he has responded to me yet.

I had the Redcliff for one trip. I haven't been in a 6-man tipi, but based on what I've read on other forums from people that have had both you may want to reconsider the Redcliff. It's going to have more usable space and will be easier to pitch. Though the 6-man will have more available standing room. Here are some good threads for reference.

I've put two cots and gear in a Cimarron (Redcliff's little brother). The cots fit well perpendicular to the doors and up against the center pole. Then each guy has their own door. Looks like with the Redcliff you could go parallel with the doors and a little away from the center pole. Depends on how long your cot is of course.

I think the 8-man would really fit the bill. Plenty of space for cots, gear and stove with standing room and possibly room for chairs too.

I researched them both and didn’t pop on either of them because of the fear for lack of room.  I’m 6,’5”
I want something smaller than a wall tent, bigger than my Kuiu and with a stove.   Good luck
