My first mule deer ever!
« on: October 21, 2022, 11:43:53 AM »
I grew up in Michigan and have hunted whitetails most of my life. I moved out to Washington about 5 years ago and have fallen in love with mountain hunting as I've always been an avid backpacker.
I've been fortunate enough to take a few bears over the years but this is my first Mule deer since moving out west. I'm always hunting solo and it has taken me a long time to find some quality spots for deer hunting.

Well, this year on opening day one of those spots paid off and I got my first Mule Deer!

Thought I'd share, as I captured some of the hunt on my camera to share with family back home.
I don't think I've ever posted before, but just reading some tips from other members over the years has been super helpful.

Congratulations from another former Michigander (though that was 45 years ago!). Nice buck. Can’t wait to pull up your video on my laptop

That is a very nice deer! The size of our NCW mule deer always amazes me. We have some very heavy deer running around WA. Congrats on your buck!
