Total Bull S#!T.
There was only 4" on top of Chinook on Tuesday, with a spin out in the afternoon coming down the westside.
From someone in a Prius or Tesla. (You know where they were from).
I think the Park service and the D.O.T suck big time. Lazy asses! (sorry for the outburst)

That’s a pretty bold statement to call the plow drivers lazy asses. Especially considering how short staffed they were last year and again this year (yeah I know a few drivers and they work hard as hell to keep the roads open). Maybe point the finger at those in charge not the workers out there risking life and limb on the roadway of getting hit by distracted or other types of drivers. If jay wouldn’t have fired nearly half the staff of DOT on 18 Oct 2021 maybe this crap wouldn’t be happening now. But what do I know.
THANK YOU   WOW REALLY  I would call this something besides a bold statement   :bash: :bash:  Maybe you'd like to come drive a plow truck oh wait probably haven't a clue on how to.  So just some facts for you to grasp if you can.  128 state employees fired because of dimslees mandate so dont call us lazy this is going to be the case on ALL PASSES.

With the cost of fuel right now I guess the state will save a lot of money not having to sand and plow those roads. So it seems like a good decision to me.

6 billion dollar surplus could buy a lot of sand and diesel.

Driving a snowplow is not a piece of cake.  Try it in a city that has steep hills and cars parked on both sides of the road, now add a curve in it and on the way down there's a full size crew cab with a 8 ft box sideways in the road.  Been there done that.  Or your pushing 8 to 12 inches of HEAVY wet snow downhill with a beautiful curl looking like a perfect wave and looking ahead there is a rag top jeep with curtains.  Mind you the curl is taller than the jeep

The plowing crews have their hands full give them plenty of much deserved Praise.

This article said we had a 15 billion dollar surplus but democrats spent it all. :dunno:

https://www.bigcountrynewsconnection.com/local/2022-washington-legislature-adjourns-after-spending-entire-15-billion-budget-surplus/article_3b009d34-a14a-11ec-91bb-23b2adaca596.html

"OLYMPIA - The Washington State Legislature ended its 60-day session on time late Thursday night after passing a 65-billion-dollar state budget and a partisan transportation package that raises fees on Washingtonians.

House Republican Leader J.T. Wilcox says this year's session will be remembered for lawmakers attempting to fix problems created in the past. "Fixing those mistakes from the past in public safety and in the long-term health care tax was critical. And if we would not have done that this year, that would have been bad for the citizens," said Wilcox. "We had a 15-billion-dollar surplus that could have gone back to the taxpayers, but instead of doing that, Democrats took by far the largest surplus in the history of Washington and spent it all," added Wilcox.

House Republican proposals included tax relief, safer communities, transportation congestion relief, and an environmental plan, but Democrats rejected those proposals. "Those are going to be the foundation of a program that we will propose for 2023," said Wilcox.

Yeah, well if this state had so much extra money then would the gas tax really need to increase by 50 cents a gallon on January 1st?   :bash:

Can't wait for that!  :bash: I guess the msm is waiting till after the elections to start reporting on that?

Main stream media not reporting staffing shortages at DOT either?

Mom went to do her blood lab at the hospital the other day....closed for the day because of staffing shortage...after she drove half an hour and push her walker 50 yards through the parking lot. She called the next day to make sure folks showed up for work before doing the drive again.

The only agreement to the surplus they could manage that helps the public was free admission to your county fairs.

In WA, there is no such thing as a surplus.  Surplus means you take in more than you spend and they will always spend whatever they can get.  Even in CA they throw some back every now and again, but it would never happen in this state.
