Wow.  Makes me want to drive out to the spot I vacated 3 days ago and see what I missed...

My daughter and I watched a buck Monday that was all about it, but the does weren't having any of it.

Here you go. This morning on my way to work I saw this guy. Cell phone so crappy quality but he had several girls already! He was doing the flehmen and everything and didn't want the girls scattering when I stopped.

Concur.  On in a big way in 239.  Spent two hours this morning watching a gorgeous 4 pt. trailing does.

Doug,
Do you always see an "early" rut phase like this?  :dunno: Is this an every-year thing, or did the moon, temperatures and Baby Jesus all line up this year to create something out of the ordinary?

Its pretty much based on light, but I do think the moon is contributing.   I usually dont see the rut fire quite this hard this early.  Anecdotally maybe these 65 temps are contributing to enhance the morning versus making it last throughout the day.  Activity is pretty much shut down by 10, slowing at 9.  The morning being hot and heavy :dunno:

I know that the rut itself is based on photo period, but "rut" doesn't always equal "activity".  Sounds like stuff lined up this year.
