A big step forward
« on: November 02, 2022, 05:23:54 PM »
My 14 year old son was successful on killing his first big game animal this morning. 15 minutes into legal shooting light we ran into a cow and she must have been confused with what we were cause she gave him all the time in the world to put a single shot through her neck dropping her in her tracks! ( I told him just behind the front leg center mass but what the hell does dad know)😂 pretty proud of the guy for taking a step towards becoming a young man.

This is very cool, something I love to see.  Congrats to the hunter and a great dad for making it happen!

Good deal! Looks like that bullet did some serious neck damage to put it down hard. Enjoy that elk meat.

Congratulations. Great work Dad getting him out there. That neck shot, if it's anything like the first elk I shot, was likely not intentional. I also aimed behind the shoulder and also hit the elk in the neck. Dead is dead!  :chuckle:

Fantastic!  Congratulations to the young man (and Dad too)!

:chuckle: :chuckle:  Both of my oldest daughters did the same thing on their first deer. Aimed tight to the shoulder and made a perfect miss.  I told them if you are going to miss by over a foot then that is the perfect miss....

Congrats to the young hunter!

Yaassss!

I recently had an opportunity to shoot my first elk(I’m 50) and I missed, so if he intended to shoot behind the shoulder and hit the neck and he killed her, he did better than I did. Congrats to the young man.

Stupendous! Good job dad. Congrats to your son.  Neither of you will ever forget that day.  My son did the same thing on a very nice mule deer at close range.
