Chop my barrel
« on: November 03, 2022, 08:41:18 AM »
Thinking of taking several inches off of my barrel. Does anybody have a good gun smith that they would recommend for such a job?

Don’t know where you are located, but I use Benchmark Barrels in Arlington or Brett Evans on So. Hill in Puyallup. Both do good work.

Id find as local a Smith as I could.  That way you can poke your head in his door once in a while as a reminder hes got your rifle.  Even a cut thread crown or even just cut crown could take them a while if theyre busy.

Where are you located?

 :yeah:

Will definitely help people with offering suggestions, unless you don't care about local to you and are willing to ship?

The range for sure. I’m in Yakima and have had the smith there cut crown and thread my barrel had it back within a week no problems. Nice guy with reasonable pricing. Have another rifle I will be having him lop a couple inc he was off of.
