Merriammagician, lot of things leading to this decision to leave. The first being that mobility is really hindering me especially being over here by myself. It’s really hard to be productive daylight to dark. I know I can hunt 290 hard right now and that I will have help in the Chelan units later this month and December.

Well after another morning with Ironhead I had a little change change of heart. Gonna stick it out up here for a while and see if one comes strolling along. Looked at some more bucks this morning and the rut is pickin up good now.

That’s the plan but even the small bucks are fun to watch

The best advice I can give you is to make your move to 290 as soon as you can. Even if it's a week before you migrate back up north. Also, relying on the Entiat in December is not recommended these days. I have a lot of experience. However, your time with Ironhead is valuable.

Spent the past couple days with Ironhead and finally turned up a pretty one. Watched him for a while and tried to get another tag holder on him. Lots of bucks but not much for size yet. Up to 27 bucks today.

MtnMuley, we’re talking over a plan and I am gonna try to spend some time down there. Will probably make a move soon.

Good day today, ended with 34 bucks! We turned up a dandy right before dark but didn’t get a good enough look at him. Headed to grub’n pub in Entiat to make sure he isn’t there  :chuckle:

I’m planning on making the move to 290 Sunday now. I’ll be down there for at least a week. If you see me bellied up in the restaurant at Mardon, don’t be shy.

I rolled into 290 this afternoon and thought I’d share a few pics  from some other tagholders the last couple days in Entiat.

My buddy who had a late Entiat tag was able to fill it on a great buck. He hunted hard for 8 days and after some highs and lows squeezed the trigger on a beautiful 4x4.

Another tagholder who I met over here finally put down the 5x5. I was able to watch this buck for a total of about 5 hours over 2 days. He cashed in 26 points on this hunt and this was his biggest buck. After he had a shoulder injury on his first load out I offered to help. Spent the morning yanking him out before I headed to the desert.

And before anyone ask, I do have permission to post these bucks.

What did that 5x5 tape out at?
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Great stuff.  I’m really enjoying this thread.   That’s the buck you posted a live pic of isn’t it?  I’ve been wondering if you have a particular type of buck you are after or just waiting for one to strike your fancy.
