What a beautiful buck!

Great photo.  are those dried-up shreds of velvet still hanging on or from something he was rubbing?

Nice!  I can't even take pictures half that good, and I've tried.

Like anything, I know it takes time, generally a lot, to develop those skills but some people just seem to have knack for taking great photos and you Sir certainly have it.

I'm curious, how long have you been doing the photography thing?

400mm, crop sensor, probably about 30 yards, thats full frame.  I got close, too close, he actually lowered his head at me to a point I backed off.   There was some stuff in front of him I was trying to get clear of.

Does his passenger side take a wonky turn past the eye guard, or is that just the camera angle?

I'm guessing injured antler during the velvet phase.
It would be great to see if he lives, what he grows next summer.

It’s hard to get the perspective on this deer.  He probably doesn’t look that wide, but this deer was just plain gigantic.   If this set of antlers were on a Texas deer.  :chuckle:.   I see very few deer of this caliber anymore and I’m not just talking antlers.  Very few deer blow me away  :yike:
