Montana bound 11/18. (Deer Down)
« on: November 17, 2022, 08:34:14 AM »
Picked up my older two daughter's A tags and we're hitting to road tomorrow for their first out of state hunt.  Took the oldest daughter up shooting yesterday and she's hitting steel out at 450yds with her 7mm08.  We will be hunting all week think I'm not sure who's more excited me or them.

Best of luck. I am hitting the road either late tomorrow night or Saturday morning with a wolf, elk and deer tag. See what happens

Good luck out there. Was a weird season last week! Cold, but still fun. In my area I saw waaaay more whitetail than mule deer for the first time.

It has been weird, I wasn't seeing any muleys in my areas also (bow and early rifle), and way more whiteys, but I think they were scattered with the good forage like Bearpaw said, we had a very wet early summer, but now with the snow/rut I've seen the normal amounts of them and their back to traditional feed areas.

1st full day and Mckenzie is on the board.  Had this buck following 2 does right down the draw we planned on hiking out and she made a good shot at about 200yards.  Deer ran right to us and laid down right in front of us so I had her put another one in it just for good measures.

Nice work.  Congratulations to both dad and daughter
