Two issues playing out. Poaching - Give the guy the normal poaching penalties if convicted. Albinism - hunters should legally take albinos out of the gene pool. In every story about hunters taking albino or piebald dear, even legally, no mention of the possible suffering of the animal or the danger to the gene pool are ever mentioned. Play on the emotion of the public, always. This is one of the problems we face in the hunting community; the ignorance of the general public with regards to wildlife conservation and the willingness of the media to play on that ignorance.

The poaching is bad no matter what type of animal it is. But that deer is not albino. A true albino has pink has pink eyes and nose as well as pink ears no coloring of any kind

Absolutely agreed on both points.

In AK, it’s super frowned upon to shoot a white moose. They aren’t protected, but folks, hunter or not will give you grief.
