Happy Thanksgiving! I was able to come home for Thanksgiving and I know I have a lot to thank God for. Hey Alden, I was finally able to try out my knife on a deer a week ago and it preformed beautifully! I used it for everything from skinning, gutting, cutting feet off and butchering and I am very impressed with this little knife.
It held it's edge surprisingly well and made quick work of the skinning.
Now I'm up to processing 1 opossum, 5 ducks, and 1 BT deer with this knife.
So stop thinking about it and buy one or two of Alden's knifes, you will not be disappointed!

I’m looking for a hunting knife in cocobolo for my son in law with a nice sheath. I see one on your site that might fit the bill.  I’m not sure about the ground thin for slicer part. It needs to be durable.  Any recommendations.

Very sorry for the late response, I just saw your question. The hunter in Cocobolo on my website was ground on a 10 inch wheel almost to the spine, can't remember behind the edge thickness, but can ask a family member to get it if you'd like. Though I don't remember off the top of my head, it would be around 15 thousandths. As far as it being durable, it depends on what you are doing with it. It has a specific purpose, which is to process game, but it isn't fragile. I made the below knife for my buddy who has a lot more hunting experience than me, and I think it was thinner than this one, and he said he was going to pop hip bones with it.

IMHO, most knives are way too thick.

Here is a video showing a very thin paring knife flexing over a brass rod. A paring is obviously thicker than a hunting knife, but this shows what a good heat treat can accomplish.

I’ve bought 4 knives from him and they’re my go to knife this year I’ve done a bear a bull elk and 3 deer with one and my beaver skinner he made me last year has done over 50 beavers !! These knives are a perfect field blade as the hold a edge and get super sharp

 Thank you for the reply.   I admit, I gave up on you and another opportunity came up for a beautiful blade.   I’m set for Christmas now, though that doesn’t mean I won’t buy another knife. Lol.
