Long range shooting class?
« on: December 15, 2022, 02:46:24 PM »
Would like to tighten things up a bit and attend a long range shooting class. Anywhere in Washington. ID/OR if somewhat close.
Modern day sniper doesn't have anything coming up.
Looking for something in spring/early summer 2023.

Suggestions?

I've never taken a class with them, but Firearm Academy of Seattle seems to have a good reputation.   See this course:

They put out nice guns. Buddy did their class. Too far to fly my rifle both ways.

Thanks. Worth a call I suppose. Kinda reads like its geared more towards weekend commandos opposed to hunting rifles.  :dunno:  :chuckle:

Shawn's classes usually fill up pretty quick, shortly after he puts his schedule up some of them get filled up so if you're interested you may want to contact him now.  Shawn and his dad Bob are great, his dad is one of the coolest dudes I've ever met and Shawn is a wealth of knowledge, from basic stuff to just about anything shooting related you want to through at him.

Shawn's shop is in Rathdrum Id. and I believe he does his classes somewhere just outside of CDA Id.

Nothing on the calendar yet but if Rock Lake Rifle Range has classes, Doug Glorfield is an awesome instructor.

Also, in the Spring there is Boomershoot (April?) in Idaho and they have had precision rifle clinics at their event in the past. Plus you get to blow up stuff later. Nothing is on their page yet about this coming Spring yet.

I've taken a half dozen FAS classes, only one of which was taught by the owner.  The rest were guest instructors, so the quality would be dependent on the instructor.  I was 100% happy with every class I took, but I would expect there are better places to shoot scoped rifles and they are pretty much set up for defensive pistol and carbine stuff, or at least they were last time I was down there.
