Target Shooting on Public Lands
« on: December 18, 2022, 07:43:54 PM »
We are looking for areas that are open to target shooting. As you are all aware so many of these areas are now gated and posted that it is almost impossible to find anywhere safe to go. The two best areas near me are both posted now. I am at the Kitsap/Mason County line and have a friend in the Everett area. Does anyone know how to find areas that are open?

Thanks in advance!

I go to private ranges here in Pierce County. If I want to shoot over 550yds I go east of the mountains. But now wdfw have new rules on shooting on their land, like 8’ vertical backstop. Most of nature isn’t vertical.

There’s a shooting pit on state forest land across he road from the Good Creek trailhead at Good Mountain, on Gold Creek Rd (if I remember right). It sees a fair amount of use.
