How do you sue the Governor for breaking the law?
« on: December 19, 2022, 07:59:35 AM »
Does anyone here know the process? I've been googling with no result.

What law did the governor break?  Civil or criminal?
I usually delete my posts after two days.

I've never claimed to be a house painter or a mechanic...it always amazes me how many people want to claim to be a lawyer.

No, violation of RCW 77.04.040 - "...the governor shall seek to maintain a balance reflecting all aspects of fish and wildlife, including representation recommended by organized groups representing sportfishers, commercial fishers, hunters, private landowners, and environmentalists."

He has definitely violated state law and his responsibilities. How do I sue him?

The RCW, which is part of state law.

I would start by trying to find a conservative, pro 2A, pro hunting attorney. I could see it going both ways. Class action civil suit and criminal. I don't think anyone could argue that he hasn't violated the RCW. The pain and suffering that I have endured by this commission should be worth millions haha.

The guy has old side show Bob in his corner.
It would be a hard case to win.
If your thinking about our wildlife Commission.

Honestly I think he got pushed to appoint members to the commission, legally he wasn't doing his job.
When he was pushed to appoint members to the commission,he decided to ,"pack the court".

The first spring bear decision that was a tie, sportsmen pushed him to appoint. Not sure that was a smart move on our part.

One obstacle is trying to find a lawyer to help you.  Then you will need to count on a judge to rule in your favor.  After a miraculous victory,  you will need to wait for 5 years of appeals by the state.
The system is evil.....

This SOB governor is untouchable  :twocents:

Politicians are protected by omission in most laws. They are just left out, so there are few citations that specify punishment or remedy and therefore accountability. Weird huh? The people that make the rules, didn’t include penalties for themselves!

Your best option is to either use the recall option or rally support for a candidate that supports your views in the next election. It’s Washington, so I am not optimistic.

:yeah:  I've been thinking a lot about this statement.  I think the best hope for the future of hunting in WA is to get a hunting friendly or, at least hunting agnostic, Democratic Governor elected.

Google "building industry sues governor inslee" and you will find he was sued and settled for violating state law on how he appointed to a regulatory building code council.  Forcing him to correctly appoint members representing trade associations for builders.

Sounds very very similar.

Here's one report on that lawsuit

https://www.knkx.org/government/2022-05-31/inslee-settles-lawsuit-over-building-council-appointments

Wow
I guess it is possible.
I'm sure the state has lost thousands in spring bear revenue alone.
And honestly his appointies to the commission is just another form of election fraud as well.

Yup. As long as the R's put forth socially conservative candidates, they have no chance of winning the Governorship. They could try to put forth a New England style candidate who is socially liberal and fiscally conservative. That candidate could win. Shoot they could win King County even given that King Co. gets back less than 70 cents on every dollar they send to the state. I don't know how that candidate comes to be or wins a primary though. There are no Charlie Bakers in WA State from what I have seen.

Alternatively, there could be a push to lobby Democratic candidates to be more pro-hunting. There really is no reason not to do both, actually.

I doubt that there is any violation of that RCW. In fact, I spoke with an attorney recently who cited that exact RCW as to why the new members were more in line with state law. I actually think that it's easier to make that case than the case that he has violated it.

I think the largest problem with that RCW is the following: "private landowners, and environmentalists".  When the state is dominated by those 2 groups, one could argue that the commission should be as well.  Not that it's right, but I could see that being a factor.

Ferguson believes he'll be the next governor. He may be right the way we're going.
It is hard to imagine there could ever come a time when I would wish that Inslee were still governor, but that would be one. Inslee is a power hungry fool, while Ferguson is downright vindictively evil.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Several weeks back I submitted a complaint to Ferguson's office regarding the violations by Inslee and here is the reply back I received.

I agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, I cant think of any circumstance where he wont be the next Governor of Washington. Thats scary stuff!

Two things he is doing, 1, trying to destroy and going against the oath he swore when taking office, defending both the state and national Constitution.  By removing by himself with the help of sideshow Bob the section which state in very plain wording “ The right of the citizen to Bear Arms”. This is in Washington state constitution!  #2 he is taxing the public without a public vote, which is also in the state constitution,  it state that all taxes, of any sort shall be voted on! There are 2 of these items, #1, the so-called Fee on fuel, it still a tax, #2 is the income tax on capital gains.  If he get this one thru then will come income tax on your wages!  Both of these items are impeachable items!

How can we support this suit?  I'll throw in a couple hundred bucks. Do you have a Venmo account? You can PM me. Pianoman

if you created a Gofundme for costs towards this effort and put it on here I’ll bet you’d get significant support.

I've been told that an effort is underway but the organization(s) won't be revealed until the suit is filed, likely shortly after the holidays. When that happens, I'll let you all know if I'm included in it. Save that money. It'll be needed, I'm quite sure. Thanks everyone.

I would stay away from "donation groups" like Gofundme as not all the money goes to the cause, and in a situation as this, every dime will be likely be needed.

Maybe better to just set up a contact person and donate directly to them, unless having a small percentage deducted from your donations is not of concern.

Gofundme's policy for example since it specifically mentioned:

https://www.gofundme.com/c/blog/gofundme-fees

It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

Sarcasm: The ability to insult stupid people without them realizing it.

My level of sarcasm depends on your level of stupidity...

Sarcasm makes smart people laugh and stupid people mad.

I am all for holding Inslee accountable. He has weaseled his way around the rules for way too long.
