Yes, and see if they get up and run off.  Also for the footage too

Really depends on the location, bait, coyot density. Lots of variables

I’ve got a built in rangefinder on my scope, it’s just the way I edit some of my videos, it makes it fill the whole screen and which removes the edges

Have you used thermal scopes without the range-finding built in?  Trying to decide which thermal unit to get but most with range-finding capability are out of my price range.  There are a few on my list but only one has a built in rangefinder and I would have to sacrifice resolution for the rangefinder....  A couple in my range have stadiametric rangefinders but not sure how that works with the digital zoom?  It seems like the built in rangefinder is a pretty big issue since you would have to spotlight with a rangefinder or guess?  Thanks for the help

The only good built in laser rangefinders on the market are from NVision Optics and Pulsar. Static rangefinders are a joke.  You lose all depth perception with thermal.  If your gonna be a serious predator save your $, you get what you pay for.  If you wanna talk more give me a call.
