This is where I'm at, but there wasn't this voting option.  I voted for the other white meat :chuckle:

Having grown up in the NE part of the country and gone to Maine on lots of summer vacations, fresh Maine lobster is hard for me to say no to. I can get good beef anytime here.

My best friend growing up was Italian and his family of course is from Boston. One year his grandmother came over here to visit and brought a live lobster and a few crab and some mussels on the plane. The lobster was still alive when she threw it in the pot at his house and I got to hear the squeal of the shell for the first time. His dad tried telling us it was the lobster screaming from being boiled alive. 😆

I will have to say, my brother and his wife used to bring a huge box of lobsters from the east and we would have a lobster feed around Christmas at my parents house in WI back in the 90's and early 2000's.  Her dad was a charter fisherman in southern Rhode Island and had a "connection". That's when I was introduced to Lobster Rolls the next day. Those were delicious.

I feel like there might be some NE lobster purist thing that says lobster rolls aren’t really a good thing. I’ve only ever had live Maine lobsters thrown in the pot screaming for their lives.

I'll take a dungy over a lobster any day.  King crab is one of the best things on the planet, but at $50 a pound, not happening.  A roast beast (prime rib or other) on Christmas day has been a tradition in our house, my parent's house and my grandparents house for all my life.  So that's what it is.

Costco had it for $39. I was dang close but assuming it was imported I couldn’t do it.

Winco had snow crab clusters for $11 lb yesterday!! They will sure make a nice addition to Christmas dinner!

Fresh/ fresh frozen?
No season in AK must be coming from the Atlantic I guess...

I did ask, as I was surprised to see it. The Employee brought out an unopended box from the freezer. Crab was frozen, and ice glazed. Said Product of USA, and they thought it was last seasons catch. They are huge "snow" legs, must be Bairdi crab. Wife went in and brought some more home...
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

We've done the Feast of 7 fishes for Christmas Eve before, an Italian tradition.  My SIL is Italian and she told us about this.  We've done it a number of times but just for the 2 of us, it is somewhat tricky. So we did the feast of 4 fishes, in the form of cioppino tonight, ling cod from this spring, dungy, shrimp and some anchovy paste in the sauce (I counted that), delicious.
