Bone, I left it just as is. But it did freeze for a few days solid. So it was rather fresh still when the cat got there. He took advantage and ate all of it, last of my bait! Haha

 :tup:  That makes sense.    I watched a small Bobbie revisit a deer carcass for almost 2 months many years ago.  THat was in the methow where it seldom thawed.    It eventually got buried in snow and he literally dig a tunnel to it.
