My First Outta state hunt
« on: January 02, 2023, 02:37:05 PM »
Heyo,

Bit of a late post. Just want to take a quick moment to say thanks to forum and members for encouragement to get outta state.

I went out in November, solo, only with some e scouting. It was intimidating. Now the thought of the whole process is exciting.

My thought here is we live in a great country. To be able to get out and see different parts of it through hunting is a blessing.

If you're reading this like I had been looking at others posts over years, just get out there and do it.

Happy new year and good luck in 2023's endeavors.

That's a sweet-looking rifle. What is it and the extras?

Weatherby Vanguard High Country chambered in 6.5PRC

Hornady 143gr ELD-X

Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10X40 CDS-ZL DUPLEX

EXO pack K3 4800

Rifle is a real beaut. My first hunting rifle I ever bought. 6.5PRC shoots like a dream.

All my hunting guns are family hand me downs.

I decided to retire my grandads pre64 win model 70 30-06 this year. I've had much success with that rifle. I've had that gun for a real long time and taken many species with that gun. Did it justice.

But I wanted less kick, great ballistics for what I like to do and cerakote for all it's worth.
