Grayback, Entiat, Desert, or Quilomene
« on: June 09, 2009, 06:28:57 PM »
If these permits are the real thing and are going to stick, my dad drew either the late Grayback, Entiat, Desert, or Quilomene.  I am really excited for him because he is 53 years old and this is the first tag he has ever drawn.  The really cool thing about it is if he did draw Grayback my grandpa (his father) killed a monster out of there back in the early 80's and the horns were just bolted to the wall in his shop, so i got a good cape for it and mounted it for him for Christmas last year.  Thank god he was smart and took good care of the horns, he didn't just throw them outside and let them go to waste.  They look so good that you would think it was kill last year.  If my dad is able to take one out of there, i will be able to put that one on his wall also.  We will have to see what happens.

Did he have the hunts listed in the same order you have them in your post? If so, I guarantee he drew Grayback.

Entiat, Desert, and Quilomene are much harder draws and he could not have drawn them if Grayback was listed as the number one choice.

I only put in for the two Desert hunts this year, because I will be in Montana for the rut this fall.  I drove through the unit yesterday and saw two nice bucks.  Both already wider than their ears, and one hadn't even begun to fork yet.  In a normal year (of not being drawn) I would have added Alkali, Entiat, and Pouge to my choices.
I put my son in for the 3 Desert hunts (2 Nov rifle and one youth in Sept) and the Blue Mountain Foothills tag.  No draw there either.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
