Well that was disappointing, 3 in favor and 5 against. There is some real tension between WDFW and the commission. The commission just made a bunch of work for themselves and will have to give WDFW more direction.

Actually, I'm not sure it could have gone any better. There was never a chance of the petition being passed today, even the staff recommended denial for good reason. However, there was excellent dialogue today. Several no voters made it clear that they are open to considering management hunts using recreational hunters in the future. Both the commission and staff agreed that there is a strong need to continue conversations on providing the guidelines on what constitutes a management need for spring bear hunts.

Yes long term I think it will be good but for the immediate future it is going to be turbulent and uncomfortable for sure.

I hate it when commissioners spew numbers just out of their head like calf recruitment has increased in the blue mountains since spring bear was cancelled. Lehmkuhl. :bash:
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

How is it they (lehmkuhl) cant be called out and corrected and otherwise be held accountable for erroneous information ?  That is how they let misinformation (lies) float for intake by the sheep .

I have no idea. Once again they made mention it is wrong to have any hunting in the spring. Again forgetting about the spring turkey season.

I stopped following their meetings when it was mentioned that spring hunting bears during their mating season was mean and we don't do that for any other species so we shouldn't do it to bears.

She made it very clear she didn't say what she said about her ignorance of turkey hunting.  Even explained to everyone on where and how to find the regulations.     :bash:

Our commission is a joke but completely expected from these clowns. They denied the petition for future spring black bear management as of today. Such a corrupt state when it comes to fish and wildlife as well as our firearms.

I don’t know why we should fill out end of season reports, they do t need the data anymore because the commission doesn’t care what the bios say or about the science.
