Tires for a little toyota pu ?
« on: January 23, 2023, 04:59:56 PM »
91 toyota 2 wd.  I have run bfg t/a's for years. Destroyed one the other day and cant find any replacements. 14" Any replacement recommendations ? I use Discount tire. Was told there were aren't bfg's available any more. No one sells A/T tires that size any more. This little pu has and will go where I want it to, It's small and has been places most wont go with a 4x4. I don't want any street/*censored* tires.
I really hate to ask, wife wants to ask for something cheep but I want to get to where I want to go, And these tires will probably cost more than the little pu is worth.
Kind of like The Last set :chuckle: :chuckle:
Just for giggles-- The guy that sold me the last set said the tires would outlast the yota  :chuckle:

On  side note;   If anyone knows where where I can get a seat ?

More details are needed. Your general location for one, the actual size of the tires, and are you running them on stock wheels. Is the bolt pattern the standard chev/Toyota 6 hole?

I will need a new set of 14s for my 87 4x2 Toyota soon. Last set I got were Dean Tires from Schwab, and that's been quite a while ago. They told me then that 14s were getting few and far between. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I dont have any experience with these tires but they look like bfg all terrains and are available for a 14" wheel.

I’d go to the used tire shops.  They probably have what you are looking for cheap.

Thanks for the input all. My inept online search is not helping. Keep seeing wont fit my vehicle or no longer available,     or the numbers are in metric ?
A bit more info - After market aluminum 14 x 7" Wheels with 0 offset and  5-114.3 bolt pattern.
Going to run it over to the shop and see what they can do with different sizes to fit the a/m wheels & not the skinny factory stuff or if they have someone that knows of different combinations.
Not opposed to used but the last time my kid and I looked for something for his old beater we could not communicate with them.

Gaddy, you should look into Tirecappers.  I bought a set of mud terrian for my gambler 500 car and have been very happy with them.

As a side note Discount Tire might not mount these cuz they are retreads.  I found used tire dealer that mounted them for me.

5 on 114.3 is also 5 on4.5" one of the most prolific bolt patterns. I bet you could find a used set of 15" all season or more aggressive tires that will work for you.

Thanks all !! 15's and tires aren't in the budget for this lil beater. After a week long search I ordered the most aggressive I could find and still not total the pu  :chuckle:  A tad bit wider and a touch taller. Will see how they work next trip to the mountains. Still fit my cable and solid link chains so there's that for winter.
