Share your Public Document Requests with us!
« on: January 27, 2023, 12:15:26 PM »
A couple of members here have shared some great research they have done on their own. They are going to really help us in bringing balance back to the commission. If you have done a PDR and have come up with some information that you think will help us in our mission please send us a private message.

Some of you have found some real gems in the rough and it is making some powers that be nervous. PDRs have been back logged for some time and you may have made the request over a year ago and are now just getting part of it. Make sure to save the document to your hard drive because your access has a time window and does not last forever. I would bet some of you made a request looking for something in mind. Perhaps  you cannot see it or perhaps you only have part of the picture and another fellow member has the missing piece.

We need all the data we can hoover up as it relates to the commission. Help us by being part of the solution. You started down that path, let us help you finish.

I have a request that was made some time ago and has been delayed over and over. There are some emails they have sent over which aren't horribly interesting but do show some use of personal emails on the part of certain commissioners. I believe I sent some to saylean already but happy to send direct and keep you updated as my request slowly comes in.

We will follow up. IF you have done a PDR make sure to SAVE the document! Your access will expire after a period of time, perhaps 1 month.

I'm generally NOT a fan of The Seattle Times, but I will say that this is a MUST READ editorial regarding how our Public Document Requests may soon get HARDER to procure thanks to our State Lawmakers. It'll only take a minute, and The Times let's you have a free article or 2 before it locks you out. For those that want to read the legislation, search House Bill 1597 and Senate Bill 5571.

snit,

Thank you for posting that, I had no idea. There is a legislative bill tracker online that makes it easy to find legislation, monitor it's progress, and comment on it: https://app.leg.wa.gov/bi/topicalindex

I found it interesting that the Senate version of that bill was co-sponsored by Kevin Van de Wege, who has done so much as chair of the Natural Resources Committee to assist the Governor in stacking the WDFW Commission against consumptive users. I'd urge all of us in his district with firefighter family members or friends get them help us get Van de Wege to change his course, or prevent his re-election.
