Why no availability of Lever actions?
« on: February 09, 2023, 12:07:40 PM »
Buddy went to Skagit arms looking for a Lever gun he was really looking for a Henry golden boy They told him they hadn't had one it over 4 months and forget about the wait times. Ive done a little looking around and don't see anything.

Had demand for lever guns skyrocketed? Do you think its from the new gun laws?

Not very sexy but seems intriguing.  Sounds like you can use an AR upper on this lever gun lower which takes standard AR15 mags.

What is going on?
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Youtubers and Instagram influencers have taken to the lever gun as a prop for their platformers. Turning them into modern tactical type rifles.

But also Marlin was caught up in the Remington bankruptcy. Ruger bought Marlin and are just now ramping up production. The interview I saw from shot show said they weren't even running at 50% production capacity and trying to get people trained to bring more production online. He also stayed the 336 will be shipping soon so look for more inventory soon.

New replacement for "assault" rifles. You don't have to have a certificate to purchase non-semi auto.

I must admit I wouldn't mind having a 30-30 Marlin 336 with a reflex style red dot. That would be a sweet brush gun for Blacktail.

They are always available at Walmart. In the Shelton Walmart there was a Henry 45-70 and a Henry 30-30. I aure don’t see pistol caliber levers often though.

They are cool.

I found a 1966 Marlin Saddle Ring and gold trigger a few weeks ago in 44 Mag. There was 2 listed on GB when I bought it and they sold at 1200+, I got it for $850. It is in great shape and looking forward to shooting it.

I’ve heard it’s from that Yellowstone show. 5 years ago every pawn shop had at least a couple marlins on the rack, and you could usually find one for less than $300 if you shopped around.

Sort of like all the old Remington 700 BDL rifles that would sit stale on the racks, all of a sudden they became collectible because Remington went bankrupt, despite the fact that there’s probably 10 million of them out there…

Levers are epic! Is that the new word? I am so stale when it comes to trendy words! Lol!
But yes levers are very awesome! I have owned many over the years.

Just added bling to these two BLR’s….

According to my 23 year old that's where it all started.  Everyone wants to be Rip Wheeler.  No kidding.

Bought this when I was 15 years old…. Paid for it with earnings from my paper route (remember those?)…. Dad put it on lay away for me and I made monthly payments for almost a year. Marlin Golden 39A .22. The gold is worn off the trigger so no collector value now, but I dont give a dang about that anyway.
