Diesel Repair Shop
« on: February 11, 2023, 02:21:11 PM »
Anyone ever use Diesel Repair Services in Burlington?

My truck died on me today in my daughters drive way, popped a P0148 code, basically fuel system. I don’t have time to mess with it.

Are you talking about Diesel Services by the state patrol by I-5? If you are get all your quotes in writing and signed. I have heard some bad stories come from there. Also check out the mechanics they have and make sure they are sober. I know of multiple mechanics that have left there because they were not into that stuff.

Check the sensor plugs first and look for a short and tape it up to get somewhere else that's reliable!

If it was mine and didn't have time to work on it I would take it to Steve's Automotive in Burlington. He is off Spruce St.

ICP sensor?? :dunno:

Isn't that the code that sets when the pump fails?
(I'm assuming it's a Cummins)

It basically covers all fuel problems with the engine.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Even though this has literally nothing to do with the OP’s question or the thread in general.

Well I got my truck back from the shop today, broken wire for the low pressure pump in the fuel tank under the battery box. I would have never found that. But that’s what the proper diagnostic tools find.👍

Steve’s automotive In Burlington is highly recommended as Justhunt recommended to me.

Great shop, said he was a month out when I dropped it off Friday, called yesterday its done.

@Justhunt    Thank you.👍

Yes, I never go to a dealership for repairs. There are plenty of good repair shops and mechanics at a third the price of dealership repairs, you just have to find them. Hourly charge trumps billable hour most every time👍

1/3 the price? :chuckle:

Maybe there are some not for profit shops out there. Who knew.
